Hey everyone,

Dojo team here.

Yesterday’s email was about culture, boundaries, and who the Dojo is really for. This one is about what that looks like in practice.

Specifically, the Dojo VIP.

We reopened Dojo VIP today as a recurring 1 on 1 coaching membership with BSJ.

As of right now, 6 of the 10 total VIP spots remain. Once these are filled, VIP closes again.

This is not a one off session.
It is ongoing coaching with follow up, accountability, and implementation.

Who The VIP Is For

Before we get into how the VIP works, we wanted to make clear who this for.

The Dojo VIP experience is not for everyone, and it is not meant to be.

VIP is for a very specific type of player. VIP is for:

Someone who wants to understand their decisions, not just copy them.
Someone who listens, applies feedback, and takes responsibility for their improvement.
Someone who wants to improve first, then gain MMR (not the other way around)

VIP works best for players who:

• Are tired of bouncing around the same MMR
• Want to know why their decisions work or fail
• Are willing to try changes even when they feel uncomfortable
• Care about long term improvement, not quick fixes
• Want 1-on-1 feedback and accountability

If you are mainly looking for meta tips, popular builds, or quick fixes/shortcuts, VIP is not a good fit.

If you want someone to tell you exactly what to do without you understanding it, VIP is also not a good fit.

If you want someone to help improve your mentality, thought process, and actually make you a better player, this is for you.

Why Fit Matters So Much

Because VIP is ongoing and hands on, fit matters more here than anywhere else in the Dojo.

This is not a single call.
This is a coaching relationship.

That only works when the student is engaged, self-aware, and willing to apply feedback.

Dota Dojo VIP Coaching is the highest level of coaching at the Dota Dojo. Currently, VIP coaching is led by BSJ. This will probably change in the future.

Thit is also why VIP is small.

This is BSJ’s direct time.

What VIP Looks Like In Practice

We have spent the last month working with the first 5 students to nail down exactly what we want Dojo 1-on-1 coaching to look like.

VIP now runs as a four week membership, built around accountability and implementation.

Here is how it works.

Each cycle includes:

• One long live session, typically around 90-120 minutes
• A focused replay review, roughly 30 minutes, to identify one high impact issue
• A live gameplay session, up to 60 minutes, to apply that focus in real time
• Dedicated recap time so you leave knowing exactly what to work on next
• A follow up replay submitted later in the cycle and reviewed asynchronously
• Session notes and recordings for review
• Full Dojo+ membership included

The goal is not to overload you with information.

The goal is to give you one clear focus, apply it, and then check that it actually stuck.

What This Replaces

A lot of 1-on-1 coaching ends up being a single call.

You talk about a replay.
You get some feedback.
You leave motivated.

And then you are on your own.

VIP is designed to replace that entire loop.

Instead of paying separately for a replay review, a live session, and then guessing what to work on next, VIP bundles all of that into one continuous process.

Replay review to identify the problem.
Live gameplay to apply the fix.
A clear plan so you know what to work on.
Follow-up to make sure it actually stuck.
Dojo+ membership to surround you with other players while you learn.

That structure is the difference.

If you were to book these pieces individually, this would easily run a few hundred dollars per month. VIP exists to make your improvement structured, ongoing, and consistent.

Why This Is Limited

We tested VIP with five players first so we could understand how this works in practice.

The coaching model worked well.
The improvements were real.
The feedback was positive.

However, what we learned is that this only works when it stays small and the coach can focus on each student.

That is why VIP is capped at ten members total.

3 of the original 5 VIP students (including nate | esco) have resubscribed.

How To Join

If this sounds like a fit, you can click the button to join here:

We are building this slowly on purpose.

VIP exists for players who want focused feedback and are willing to do the work.

If you’re unsure whether this is a fit, the free Dojo and Dojo+ options are often the better place to start.

But if this is for you, we’ll see you in the VIP section.

See you in the VIP,
The Dota Dojo Team
